If your Speaker is emitting a crackling sound whilst playing music - you should attempt the following troubleshooting option:
1. The amplifier is clipping as it has run out of output power
Decrease the volume on your sound source and/or lower the volume or bass on the Stanmore Multi-Room Speaker
